I realized something interesting too, browsing around the Rolex subs. (And really, in real life too) A really big chunk (read: almost all) of Rolex gen owners couldn’t pick a Rolex gen out of a row of high quality reps if it bit them. Rolex sells to AD’s not the grey market, prices in the grey mkt are still greater than retail+tax (barely in some instances), therefore there’s still demand for watches that exceeded supply. If Rolex wanted more money they would just keep production and raise prices since (current) 100% watch production multiplied by more money is more profit.
